RICHMOND HILL MAN CHARGED IN CONNECTION WITH TRACTOR TRAILER ACCIDENT
Leeds OPP have arrested and charged a driver from Toronto after a collision involving a tractor trailer and a stationary construction sign truck.
Just before 2pm on July 9th, officers were made aware of a collision on Highway 401 eastbound in Front of Yonge Township.
Police investigated the scene, and found that the trailer hit a Ministry of Transportation crash truck that was parked on the shoulder near Mallorytown.
A 37 year old man from Edwardsburgh Township was occupying the driver's seat of the MTO truck and sustained minor injuries. Further, a 19 year old male from North Stormont Township who was working on the side of the road was struck by the tractor trailers tire. He was transported to hospital in Kingston with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the tractor trailer, a 42 year old man from Richmond Hill, was charged with Careless Driving contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
A single lane was closed for the investigation. and the investigation is ongoing.
