It was always the late Gord Brown's vision for a 2nd ice pad for the Town of Gananoque. Following his death a GoFund me page was created with over thirty six thousand dollars raised as of May 25th. At TLTI Committee of the Whole on June 4th council was in full support of this but had concerns as far as cost of construction and operation of the pad. Mayor Joe Baptista says some details need to be worked out.

Consultants from Thousand Islands Accommodation Partnership along with Baptista and Gananoque Mayor Erika Demchuk are also involved with the project preliminary costs are said to be between four hundred thousand and one million dollars. TIAP has already committed one hundred thousand dollars to the ice pad.
