DOORING A CYCLIST COMES WITH A HEAVY PRICE TAG 5/14/2018 9:04:38 AM
The CAA have introduced a new initiative to try and avoid the rising issue surrounding dooring.
Dooring is the term when a driver or passenger opens the car door and makes contact with a passing cyclist.
To try and curb this phenomenon, which is said to be the biggest cause in crashes between cars and cyclists, Teresa Di Felice of the CAA wants people to learn about the Dutch Reach
She says that dooring stats have risen in parts of the province over the past couple of years. If you do happen to hit someone with your car door, you could face a fine of three hundred and sixty five dollars and receive three demerit points.
