Federal MP's -Conservative and Liberal- Residents, Friends and Family of Gord Brown come together in solace at the Lou Jeffries Arena Thursday morning to pay respects to Gord Brown as he was laid to rest.
The late MP for Leeds-Grenville, Thousand Islands & Rideau Lakes passed away in the morning of May 2nd in Ottawa after question period.
Hundreds gathered to grieve about the loss of a true community man, as well as reminisce and share memories about how the 57 year old Gananoque resident made their lives better.
Brown's son Chance took a few minutes to stand calm and collected at the service and thanked everyone for taking time to remember his dad and support his family at the service.
Chance said that his dad loved his job because he loved working with people in his community.
Opposition Leader Andrew Sheer was also at the service today to show his respects for the man who he said was a close colleague in the House of Commons.
Sheer said that he remembers the way that Brown would talk about his wife and kids showed that above all else, they were his pride and joy, and the reason for all his strength and conviction.
