Tory leadership hopeful Caroline Mulroney picked up a local endorsement on Friday afternoon from the federal level. Speaking to a crowd of about sixty at the Thousand Islands Mall, Mulroney was introduced by Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes MP Gord Brown who is throwing his support behind Mulroney. Brown says, "As the daughter of a former Progressive Conservative prime minister, Brian Mulroney, Caroline has been immersed in conservative politics all of her life, Her father, as you would recall, really knows something about winning elections." The forty three year old lawyer, businesswoman and mother of four was nominated last year as the PC candidate in York-Simcoe. She is currently one of three people seeking the leadership, along with former PC MPP Christine Elliott and former Toronto city councillor Doug Ford.
