GANANOQUE HUMANE SOCIETY SAYS WHAT'S UP CUPCAKE
The Gananoque & District Humane Society is bringing back its 'What's Up, Cupcake?' initiative. Every March the Society holds the campaign where the organization encourages the public to bake goods and bring them to their business in support of welfare of the areas pets who may be at risk. This year the GDHS is hoping to raise five thousand dollars, asking for two dollar donations for every cupcake baked. Entering it's twenty fifth year, the GDHS receives no guaranteed funding and are always looking for new ways to help keep the doors open. The fundraising campaign isn't just restricted to cupcakes and other baked goods are highly encouraged. The GDHS is asking one or two people to bake cupcakes to share with friends and colleagues, and collect a donation for our no kill, volunteer run shelter. Funds can be dropped off at the shelter located at 85 Hwy 32 just north of the 401, open every morning except Sunday from 9 am until noon and Saturdays till 1 p.m. For more information on the initiative visit www.ganhumanesociety.ca, or follow them on social media at @GanHSociety.
