10/13/2017 7:33:43 AM

The Alzheimer's Society of KFL&A is benefiting from the 100 Women Who Care Kingston chapter. The group, which consists of about 400 members, celebrated their fifth anniversary and were able to present over $20,000 to the Alzheimer's Society. The money will go towards the Volunteer Companion Program, which matches volunteers with clients throughout KFL&A who are in the early stages of dementia. Additionally, some funds would go toward the Blue Umbrella program - a program that offers customer service training to employees of local businesses, geared to providing a better understanding of dementia and some of the behaviors they may encounter with their customers.
