Starting today (Aug. 8th), the City of Brockville is beginning infrastructure work on a couple of streets to prepare for Brockville General Hospital's redevelopment project. Charles Street will be permanently closed from the former Red Cross building towards Bartholomew Street. Visitors to the Charles Street site are required to enter via Ormond Street. Additionally, Bartholomew Street between the railway tracks and pearl Street will be closed until October 31st to begin the work for the new addition on the current site. Brockville committed $4.7 million towards the hospital's redevelopment project and with provincial approval, full construction is expected to begin this winter.
