With community support, the Veterans' Memorial Garden at Carveth Care Centre is growing. Thanks to the support of the Lions Club, Gananoque Legion, Rotary Club, local businesses and donors, a new monument will be built into the courtyard at the long term care facility. The entire 'In Flanders Fields' poem will be going on the stone. The monument will sit about three feet high once it is installed. The garden currently includes 28 footstones with the names of men and women who served their country. There are another 12 veterans currently live in the retirement home. The total cost of the project was $3,000.
