DOWNTOWN ARENA STILL WANTED SAYS BROCKVILLE MAYOR

Those who are hoping to put a second arena in downtown Brockville still have a little bit of hope. During last week's Mayor's Breakfast with Brockville Mayor Dave Henderson, he told those in attendance there are still people working hard to see if the twin-pad arena could end up downtown. Henderson said he didn't want to get people to excited as the city already has the ball rolling to put the dual pad ice surface on the site of the Memorial Centre. Councillor Jason Baker says the Memorial Centre plan comes with economic advantages that wouldn't happen if the arena went elsewhere. Meg Plooy, the executive director of the Downtown Brockville BIA said it is still a priority with them to get the twin pad arena downtown.
