Gananoque Police want to remind people that not stopping for school buses with their red signal lights flashing can result in a $490 fine and six demerit points. Police say they have received numerous complaints from bus drivers and concerned citizens regards vehicles not stopping. Under the Highway Traffic Act motorists "shall stop before reaching the bus and shall not proceed until the bus moves or the overhead red signal lights have stopped flashing". Police want to remind drivers that the safety of the children in the community is their priority.
